No Lumiverse Artnet output on Mac (works on PC)

Hi all,

I'm on Arena 5.01 and having an issue with no artnet output. I am running OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan on a Macbook Pro . If I run the same composition on the same laptop in Windows bootcamp it works just fine. Artnet data is being sent to an artnet node. Computer is at 2.0.0.10 and the node is at 2.0.0.6. I do get a ping reply from the node (in OS X) but the node does not show any valid artnet input.

I have tried this on multiple laptops with the same issue occurring.

Jeremy, are you using a wired or wireless network or both at the same time?

Hi,

The connection from the computer to the node is wired. I have made sure to turn off the wifi off as well...

I experienced the same problem when trying to send artnet output from Arena to a GrandMA 2 lighting console. It worked in windows but not OS X.

Are using USB3 or Thunderbolt to Ethernet?

For some reason, I always seem to have issues with the TB to Ethernet adapter! Do you have any way to test the connection with a USB3 to Ethernet adapter or a WIFI connection by connecting your node to the router directly?

Unfortunately I don't have a USB to ethernet at the moment. Is it strange that it works through the Apple Thunderbolt to Ethernet connector in windows but not in OS X?

Can you try the WIFI option to see if it works?

We've tested ArtNet output on Mac extensively, albeit using a regular good old fashioned Ethernet connection.

I'd be very surprised if using a Thunderbolt connection would behave any different. We'll do some testing with it though.

could you run
ipconfig /all
in a windows command line and
ifconfig
in osx terminal and paste the outputs here, so we could see the differences in network setup?
also check firewall settings in osx.
