Synchronization two arenas 5 by artnet

Post by Deepsound »

Is it posible to synchronize start playing (one master computer one slave) and fade buttons by using ethernet port and DMX map.
Map is the same on each computer. all tcp/ip is correct. But it does not see signal.
We had tried but fail. Only thing we did is OSC synchronize, but it work strange a little and need to have same video files on both computers.
Thank you.

master-slave dmx sync is not possible the way you would like it.
you could use a master dmx console which would control both resolume machines.

there are some topics on OSC master-slave, but still not officially supported out of the box.

I mean, I could not connect dmx-out device(usb-dmx) from one computer (arena) and connect it to one dmx-input(usb-dmx) on other one arena. I just don't want to use lighting console.

you don't get the UI interactions as DMX output from resolume, as you get it via OSC.
so no, that won't work that way.

And one more question, is it any posibility that OSC controll will work correctly in future updates? It seems to be important function. It almost working now :D . I gona buy few more licences if it will work perfect and will have no glitches.
Also is SMPTE works good? If I will start all playbacks with dmx(hrom hog for example) and synchronize it by smpte signal will it work stably? I really need to play 2 and more computers same content to have 10 and more outputs with 1080p and no framedrop.

try this in Relay Mode between the two(or more) resolume machines to see if it suits your needs for OSC master slave

So finally I connect 2 computers, one of them has this osc program. I can control slave computer but could not do the same with arena on master computer.
And I don't understand what exactly relay mode doing.
Where can I read more about that. Maybe you could help me?

Oh we fix this. The reason was same port.
With 2 ports 7000 and 7001 we can control both.
But anyway what is relay mode?

it takes osc input from the master, applies some filters and outputs it to the clients.
You can use your own filters if you want, there is a readme.txt attached explaining how.

edit: so this program runs in the background in relay mode, and almost anything you do on the master resolume gets sent to multiple slaves, but filtering OSC messages that could cause problems, or unexpected behavior on the slaves.
