No display on output: small or fullscreen

Post by morymb »

Hi,

I am running Resolume Avenue 4.1.4 specifically for fugfeedback, which works great, but is only limited to the preview window. I can't even get the comp to show in the small output window in the corner, just the preview.

I've tried to just open up the full display 1920x1080 and just get a black screen.

I've uninstalled, re-installed, tried the latest version of Resolume, tried latest vers of Arena, uninstalled, re-installed, am am now back to Resolume 4.1.4.

Still no luck. The file is a quick AVI. I used to be able to use MOV's but for some reason cannot now.

So, I stick with avi, even though some avi files resolume will not recognize when I drag into the window for applying effects, and again, any luck I have getting a visual in the frames will only carry over to the preview window and never the small or full screen output window.

The weird thing is that when I first installed it, I did, very briefly, get a smaller output visual with the clip.

Here is my system.

It's a laptop:

ASUS ROGJZ
32 gb ram
NVIDIA GEFORCE 880M 4GB
i7-4700HQ
7200rpm hdd
256 X2 GB SSD

Is it impossible to monitor internally at fullscreen on a laptop?

My needs are to fraps capture the video comp but am stuck trying to get fraps to attach itself to the smaller preview screen which sucks because obviously the resolution is super small.

Anyone have any ideas on what the issue may be?

Thanks!

Joel

Your post is a bit confusing so let me make sure I understand what type of files you're using. Are you using quicktime files (.MOV) or quick AVI .files (.AVI, .MP4 or .MKV)?

I am using AVI only because that is all Resolume will register. It will populate mov files in the right side bar file search list, but once dragged to a top pane, it will remain black, as if nothing was dragged. (I should mention I am on a PC running windows 10 sadly).

With the avi files, I was not able to go fullscreen or even see in my small output monitor (lower right hand side, above preview monitor), only preview...that is...until...

I tried clicking on the clip itself (instead of the bottom border of the window holding the clip, which allocated it to the preview window) of the top clip window(s). Now I get full screen. Once I click on the clip thumbnail instead of the bottom border of the clip (highlighted light blue), it shows up in my output, small and full-screened. So it was a user error haha. Everything seems to work now but....

There's a new glitch/bug. My clips play too fast and overload with audio feedback and freeze. I've tried adjusting the bpm etc to no avail. So, I dunno. The clip that speeds up was frap captured at 60fps so, maybe that has something to do with it.

I am sorry I'm so confusing, I'm trying to explain everything thoroughly and in the process probably making it difficult to understand.

:D

Do you have Quicktime installed on your PC?
