Problem: Stingy Sphere on layer

Hello there

I have a problem. when I try to use the effect 'Stingy Sphere' on a separate layer, the output is skewed, resulting in a oval shape instead of round. It does not happen when I use the effect on composistion and / or on a separate clip.

The problem can be circumvented if I swap around on the dimension / width of the clips, but it is not a viable solution.

Is it a known problem? or something that can be fixed in some way? I would very much like to have a separate layer with Stingy Sphere, and the rest of the layers are clean.
