Hi swarm,
I´m planning on linking 2 PCs via Network/IPs, with one controlling the other. Direction SHOULD be DasLight-> Resolume (DL triggering Comps)
So as you might have guessed, one PC (PC A) is running DasLight 3 and controlling PARs & other lights, and the other PC (PC B) is running Arena 4.2.2.
Now i´m capable of doing pretty much everything else in Arena, but it´s my first time i´m linking 2 computers - that´s why i´d appreciate some help on that!
Where do i start with the "programming"/mapping? How do i specify a certain signal, like saying i press a button in DL and Resolume is changing the Color of the Layer 5?
Also is there maybe a better Lightdesksoftware to perform that?
appreciating any help of you guys!
please let me know if you need more info!
Artnet/OSC: DasLight 3 -> Arena 4.2.2

So when controlling via artnet the lighting program will act like what resolume does fits in its philosophy. Clips are gobos, colors are rgb values, opacity is a dimmer.
You'll use effects in resolume dmx mapped to the right channels that you have patched to your board for colors. Opacity will just be dimmer or intensity values. You map dmx the same way you map midi.
When programming you just group multiple fixtures/channels to your cue or executor.
I haven't played with osc and light boards. The only one I know that does artnet for free and can handle osc is chamsys magicq.

My preference is to make a custom fixture in the lighting software with as many channels as I need - also so I can control what does what. Or you could just use generic fixtures. You will have to turn off Arena's dmx auto map though for that.

Hi!
First of thanks for your replies!
So i think i have to specify the setup a bit further...the lights are crrently only controlled via the on-screen application DASLight 3, so there is no designated hardware lightdesk.
It´s basically a calm light/visual setup, so no need to do something live all the time!
Thats why i´m looking into liking color, speed and brightness of the moving heads together with resolume!
Is Magic Q capable of playing out scenes to the heads via a DMX dongle without being conected to a lightdesk?
