Windows 10 update (4/23/17) and novastar LCT Mars

Post by Arvol »

Not resolume related, but I wanted to post a warning for other led system techs out there.
The latest creators update does not play well with novastar (at all). Currently working with them for a fix. Be sure to have a different machine running an older version of windows if you need to map. FYI

** I haven't tested with smart LCT yet, but that's on my to do list first thing tomorrow morning.***

Is that version 3 of Mars or are you talking about Smart LCT?
Smart LCT works but Mars isn't

Can confirm Mars is broken after the Creator Update. Reverts to Chinese and one of the drivers fails to load.

Just had the USA office try to Teamview in and solve this. No luck...
We're trying again in 8 hours with R&D from China.

Smart LCT works great for mapping, but I have to have the receiving card parameters changed and there is no option for that in SmartLCT :(

I am sorry, it's MARS 3.2.2, working flawlessly here with the creator's update, I haven't tried the Nova Studio yet.

Try rolling back to this version I am using and see if you can work with that.

Unfortunately the oldest version I could find online is 4.4.1
But i think I have an old DVD with 3.2.2 floating around the shop somewhere.
I'm going to test older versions to find the latest older version that works, Once I find that I'll post a Dropbox link to share until we can get the 4.6.2 version to work.

Thank you for the update! This really helps! :)

So it looks like Version 4.4.1 is the newest older version that is working at the moment.
Here is a link to this version (along with 3.2.2 and 4.6.2 for anyone else who is interested in testing.):

I've forwarded this info along to Nova and we'll be working on it later this evening.
Big thank you to renanmarc for suggesting an older version. This will keep the shows rolling until a fix has been issued.

You're welcome man, I was going to upload this version to Google Drive but you acted faster than me, I keep a copy of almost EVERY VERSION of Nova and LINSN softwares on my HDD because it's common for me to have issues with newest versions of them and I have a cabinet here that only works with the version 11.87 of LINSN, so based on this, I started keeping old versions on my HDD just to make sure.
