Recently I bought an Apc40 MK2 as my first controller and I use Resolume Arena and Macbook. It's a nice controller but the only thing which consfuses me is the LED lights.

When I open Resolume, MK2's buttons won't shine to show me where the clips exactly are on the deck, so it's inconvenient for me. However I can still trigger clips with MK2 and when clips are triggered, the corresponded buttons will shine orange until they stop playing!

Many people use Bome's to set up their midi controllers. How can I use Bome's to make the lights shine to show where the clips are as what they look like on Resolume's decks?
I also wonder how people use Processing to manage midi controllers. It seems that some people build programs. Is it also possible to write a .xml file? Or are there any other ways to set up controllers with Processing?
Thank you!

I'm having the exact same troubles.

I am new to the VJ community I come from a visual / motion graphics background so having to do all this custom MIDI mapping and third-party software is sort of a kill joy for me in the limited time I have to be doing this when I'm not working.

I'd love to fast-track being able to hook up my MK2 to Resolume easily. I'm running a Macbook Pro using latest OS.

So far I've been searching a great deal for solutions to this without having to go with Bomes and other apps

A friend told me how to do it, it was suprisingly easy...
In Preferences > Midi > APC40 mkII > you have to check the box that says "Output MIDI".

And that's it!! 8-)

i'm wondering if anybody ever made a template for the APC40 mkII which changed the orientation of the 5 x 8 clip grid, so that Resolume could be used in a more logical way: 5 layers with 8 clips to each screen. Ableton works with Session View with vertically oriented clips per each track, which over-ride each other: 8 horizontal tracks with 5 vertical clips for each APC40 mkII grid-view. As well all know, Resolume works with horizontally oriented clips per each layer, which over-ride each other. So it'd be ideal if one was able to "flip da script"! Any programmers know if this is possible, or if it has been done already? Thanks for any info, cheers! Greg
