Capture Card

Post by ddgarcia »

Hello Everybody
I guess it's my first post! But been here for a while just to satisfy my needs , when I needed! :P

I here asking for help, i made a bad research and.... I bought an AverMedia Capture Card, everything works fine, using their software I can see my gopro , on vlc also , etc..
However on both of these softwares I get no error, but on Resolume, when I drag "AverMedia GC550 Video Capture 1" from sources menu and use it on a layer, the image shown is an Error saying "Invalid Signal - Please Lower your Resolution to a supported range", but it's weird because this error is showing with the Avermedia Logo on IT, so on my logic, resolume is receiving from Avermedia Board the error, but also tried multiple HDMI inputs( one gopro, one computer) and all say the same on resolume, but on the same computer, with resolume closed and vlc/avermedia software, I can see the inputs!!! , on Avermedia software they show a resolution of 1920x1080, but I noticed on resolume when i Drag the source, it's says live feed but only does 640x480 ( I think this is the main problem)
Why is it? :? :?
I attached pictures to this to give you a better look!
I'm really confused , Avermedia can't "pip" into resolume and shows a resolution error? is this error related to the input on the capture card?? :|

Can anybody help me please??
Thank you!

Hi,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it always got to 640x480 by default?
I have used a couple of BlackMagic capture cards and i need to set up the resolution and frame rates from the Resolume software and made sure it matches the format I'm capturing.

You re right it always get 640x480 however inside resolume with an blackmagic you can chance the resollution on a dropdown menu available on that source, however with the one i am using i dont get Any option to change resplution, at least I cant seem to find it

Hi,

I have not got a chance to try out AverMedia.
Make sure to check the device compatibility for Resolume.
I've had a rough experience with non- compatible capture card a few years back.
I'm talking to you AJA!!!
