Hi Guys,
In the news macbook late 2016 I've 4 usb-c port but I have to link power supply and an external hard disk so I've only other 2 port. If I would link up to 2 screen, how can I make it?
Thanks a lot

Re: Link un to 2 screen on new macbook late 2016
I'm a bit out of date on the latest MBP line. Anyone know how many outputs it officially supports?
Re: Link un to 2 screen on new macbook late 2016
The USB-C ports on the MBP are power both ways, Thunderbolt 3 (which is PCIe & DisplayPort) and USB C so if you need to connect more than 4 things to your laptop, you'll need adapters that can fan out these various things.
For instance, this type of adapter would let you connect USB C cable (such as power or a second adapter), standard USB device (not 3 or 3.1) and HDMI display to one port
This the type of dock, would let you do connect even more.
As a reminder even though you would still have the same video output limitations, you can daisy chain up to 6 Thunderbolt 3 devices for each port.

Ok, all adapter supply only 60watt not 90w of power supply. So i shoud buy a dock where i can link my hard disk usb-c and in the same dock link a video cable? Correct?
In case of input stream from black magic or other source, it can be like a video signal or not?
Example:
Port Number 1 - power supply
Port Number 2 - Dock with hard disk and hdmi signal
Port Number 3 - Any video signal
Port Number 4 - input video stream / third screen?
Can it work?
Thank a lot

where do you get the 60W limitation?AnveG wrote:Ok, all adapter supply only 60watt not 90w of power supply. So i shoud buy a dock where i can link my hard disk usb-c and in the same dock link a video cable? Correct?
No, capture cards are either PCIe or USB3 and T3 does both.In case of input stream from black magic or other source, it can be like a video signal or not?
Should work fine. 1 & 2 could be combined and 4 can have both capture and display.Example:
Port Number 1 - power supply
Port Number 2 - Dock with hard disk and hdmi signal
Port Number 3 - Any video signal
Port Number 4 - input video stream / third screen?

Re: Link un to 2 screen on new macbook late 2016
You cannot combine 1 and two because this shitty multiport adapter from apple can only pass 55W of power, so your macbook will discharge. Or use separate port for charging or use two charges and two multiport adapters.
Re: Link un to 2 screen on new macbook late 2016
But i tested and it works reliable: 2 outputs+2 thunderbolt blackmagic inputs + usb hub from anker and tonns of usb devices-hard drives, midi, sound card, flash-sticks. Only problem - 55W limitation. So i was playing around dropping sometimes one thunderbolt input for dedicated charging and going back to 2out tb +2in tb after battery was charged. No Resolume reloading during this.

New Macbook 15 can drive 4 separate video-outs + Built-in Display for interface.
But better buy Datapath and use mapping inside one video-out
And for 13 inch you are limited to only 2 external displays (also 2 out of 4 thunderbolts have only half of bandwidth)Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display at millions of colors and:
Up to two displays with 5120-by-2880 resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors
Up to four displays with 4096-by-2304 resolution at 60Hz at millions of colors
Up to four displays with 3840-by-2160 resolution at 60Hz at over a billion colors
