Not sure what is going on but randomly when on tour my system doesnt detect when I plug in via mini display port or hdmi. what happens is that it trys to see it and my mouse freezes for about 1sec then nothing happens. Windows doesnt see a 2nd monitor. Tried restarting system and still nothing. Please help

That's a windows issue for sure.
Do you have auto update enabled for your graphics driver? I wouldn't be surprised if you restarted and it installed a new set. Have you thought about moving up to windows 10? 8 is kinda a weird duck in my experience.
I have something sorta similar with the lock up because of my laptops 1080.

Yeah it like wants to detect the display and then something makes it not go through. Tried a couple different mdp adapters as well as updated graphic driver and windows itself (still on 8.1 though) the mdp worked great the night before. Last night to solve they gave me hdmi direct. Let me find out what hardware configuration they had when I was trying to connect via dvi.
