When using 'Envelope' to control Opacity levels with multiple anchor points, 'Hold' cannot be applied to the last anchor point, additionally resulting in a UI glitch where the envelope line continues straight from the preceding anchor.
See the attached 'Cannot apply Hold to last Envelope anchor.gif'.

Re: [Defect][Envelope] Cannot apply Hold to last Envelope anchor
Yes.Dalvinio wrote:... the envelope line continues straight from the preceding anchor.
That's how it's supposed to work, try adding some points to the envelope, and set one of the middle points to Hold.
The envelope will hold the last point's value until the current point is reached.
The point settings are only affecting the Envelope curve before the point you apply them on.

Re: [Defect][Envelope] Cannot apply Hold to last Envelope anchor
In your example, since the third keyframe is at 100% you can’t see the line but if you move it down, you will see the line if you set the fourth (and final) keyframe to ‘Hold’ the value from the third keyframe until you reach the fourth (and final) keyframe.
Re: [Envelope] Cannot apply Hold to last Envelope anchor
Executive summary: all clear now - this is not a defect, but just me misunderstanding the application of 'Hold' on the Envelope.
That's clear, thanks!
Right, so basically, what I have in the GIF, at the 2nd anchor where the value "jumps".Zoltán wrote:Yes.Dalvinio wrote:... the envelope line continues straight from the preceding anchor.

Thanks for the additional notes! I got it figured out now and realise I misunderstood the application of 'Hold', as Zoltán pointed out and was also distracted by a very minor visual difference, highlighted in the attached 2 screenshots. With some of the 'origins' for a value there's a distinct smaller dot, which is not present when you pick 'Clip Position' as the 'origin'.Oaktown wrote:In your example, since the third keyframe is at 100% you can’t see the line but if you move it down, you will see the line if you set the fourth (and final) keyframe to ‘Hold’ the value from the third keyframe until you reach the fourth (and final) keyframe.
Re: [Envelope] Cannot apply Hold to last Envelope anchor
The small dot is the actual value position based on the parameter timeline/slider.
It's there in your second screenshot too, about in the middle of the envelope.
