individual Fade times and MIDI Triggering

Post by stillstand »

hey everyone,
I use Arena mainly for video content for experimental theatre plays and I ve got two crucial problems with Arena 6:

1.) I cant find a way to adjust individually fade times for each clip. layer fade time dont really help me. Wouldnt it be helpful for many users, if Resolume would add a "Transition" effect (it already exists for layers, but not for Clips), that has a higher priority then the layer fade times!? Plus, im desperately missing the option to adjust fade-in times and fade-out times separately.
Or is there a cool workaround i havent found yet? the ones i ve found are really time consuming and not in relation to the actually simple function.

2.) Since Arena 6 there is no option anymore to choose the hierarchy of MIDI shortcuts (Application based or Project based). Im having big troubles since then because I use the same MIDI notes in different projects for different things. So once i change the MIDI note for a certain button in one project, it changes the MIDI shortcut for that button everywhere else. if you dont want this, how would you do this? Did they hide the option to choose the hierarchy or is it really gone?

thank you in advance!

Check out Zoltan's Linear OSC Controller for Resolume where you can set different transition times for every column trigger.

The other way it to take control of the transition time or the clips' opacity on a timeline with a third party OSC controller such as Vezer

Thank you for responding so fast!

---> how do envelopes allow you to adjust fade-in and fade-out separately in the same clip?

thanks a lot for your effort.
unfortunately your method requires to play one whole clip til the end.
but what i need are individual fade in and -out times whenever i jump from one clip to the other.

As a note, the 1:00 for Speed slider =5 seconds (default), 0.2=25 seconds and 5=1 second etc...
