How do you remove layers permanently?
How do you remove layers permanently?
When I remove layers as soon as I switch decks, it goes back to 16 layers. How can I remove them permanently so in each deck I only have, say, 4 layers rather than 4 layers plus 12 empty layers?
Re: How do you remove layers permanently?
They have to be empty in every deck, then they should disapear.
Or start a clean Comp and dont add so much layer in the first place
work around could be, group & hide...

Re: How do you remove layers permanently?
Thanks. They were blank but I just wasn't being diligent enough. I had to go through each deck one by one and remove all of the layers and it stuck. A couple things I found out that seem odd...
-When you add a Layer it adds it to every Deck (the rule seems to be that all Decks must have the same number of layers for whatever reason).
-If you remove Layer 5 from Deck A, then remove it from Deck B, then go back to Deck A, the Layer will have reappeared (assuming you have more than just the 2 Decks).
-So you have to remove all of the layers you want deleted from Deck A, do the same for Decks B, C, etc. until you're done (without going back to a deck you've already removed the layers from). Once you've removed the layers from ALL decks, you can then revisit decks without the Layers reappearing.
It would be nice to have the ability to remove a Layer from all Decks simultaneously (perhaps with a popup if there's content on one or more layers asking you if you want to delete the content). It seems odd that adding a layer adds it to all decks, but removing a layer really does nothing unless you go through and do it to each deck. If you accidentally add a Layer to a comp that has 20 decks, it's quite a hassle.
If I'm missing something here, let me know.
