Hey,
I'm going to do a project in a while involving projection mapping and I need some help
Project is a play where there is projection mapping on the décor pieces
I have 2 projectors for adding subtitles on the top of the stage
And one for adding the mapping on stage
I've never projected with more than one projector and my laptop has only one HDMI port an nothing else
It's a windows laptop with:
An i7 processor
A gtx860m graphics card
1hdmi port
And 3 USB 3.0 ports
I need to connect 3 projectors at ones
I've seen stuff like connectors for display port an other things
What is the best solution
A couple of USB to HDMI or VGA adaptors
A HDMI splitter
If you connect those USB adapters do they use the graphics card in my laptop or do they have a chip of there own and is it possible to get a good fps out of them
What to watch out for with HDMI splitters does it work at all
Thanks
Discobol1

Re: Project help
Of course the splitter! Especially if you have a limited number of ports. Take 3 way hdmi splitters or more. I think you just need to be enough! On my laptop, there are only 1 output HDMI (I did not pay attention when I bought it) and now now it brings discomfort. But I took myself a LANGREE LG splitter (basically I play games on 2 screens to play with my friends, but it seems to be good for other purposes). I do not like terribly when a lot of wires!
It creates a sense of disorder ... Splitter will solve the same problem.

Hi Discobol1,
please ignore the reply of "BlakeBlack". It is totally wrong. A splitter duplicates the incoming signal to every output.
For example... you send a funny bunny video clip to your splitter...you'll get the exact same funny bunny clip out of every output from the splitter. If you make changes to the funny bunny clip....these changes will be visible on every output of your splitter....no matter how many outputs your "splitter" has.
What you need is a device which can receive your signal and cut it into 3 separate pieces and then send each piece to its own physical output. If you are on the budget side I would recommend you a Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition with DVI in/out. You can easily adapt from and to HDMI.
DONT use USB to HDMI/DVI what so ever devices!!!! They will not work!
You own a notebook with a gtx860m.... so I would guess your max. output resolution is 3840x2160 pixels NVIDIA SPECS.
You need 3 separate outputs... so 3840px/3 = 1280 px.
So every individual output of the Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition can have 1280x720px.
Hope that answer helps you.
Best wishes

And yes, I acknowledge that I was wrong. Didn't see that author need three separate pictures on three screens.....
