free frame effects on clips

Im having some probs with free frame effects when they are on a clip.

If I apply a free frame to an effect layer (on the left hand side of the screen), the effects run fast and smooth but when i put the effect on a clip and play it the effect is very different, sometimes plays slowly.

P4 3ghz hyperthread, 1gig ram, winxp.

can you give an example of what freeframe effect you are using?

i noticed it when i was useing chromeium and i tryed a few others as well with the same kind of result.

when i get home ill try all my free frams and report back

i think ive got it,

when i save the parameter state on a clip it changes it for all the clips but it doesn't save the parameter to the global effect.

hope that makes sense
