Hey, I'm have a Athlon 2000 XP+ with 512 MB Ram and gForce 440MX 64MB.
Only I'm using Flash clips over a live signal from a Osprey 100 Card (best on 320x240, but poor on 640x480 capture) and using all layers and effect possible at 320x240 output on projectors.
And now i want an upgrade for 640x480 output. What is the best hardware change?? Upgrade the processor or the Video Card?
When I tried the output at 640x480 with my actual cpu, a lot of frames have been drop.
i'm not use video clips or they are very smalls/shorts (2-5 MB avi's) then don't need a more fast hardrive.

Best hard for Flash based VJ?
My friend had the same setup that you had i.e AMD 2100XP, 512Mb Ram , and a Geforce MX440 with 64Mb of ram, he was ok using flash based loops but on using video his system seemed to crash.
What he did was upgrading the ram as for the video card resolume doesnt affect that much....he now has 1Gb ram and is doing ok....actually even sometimes managing an output of 800x600.
