Hi resolumers
I read that Matrox M9188 PCIe x16 doesn´t work with resolume, but the post has like 10 years, the same problem applies?
"Resolume does *not* work with Matrox cards. They are office cards, and not suitable for realtime graphics."
Thanks

Re: matrox M9188 PCIe x16
I don't think that has changed much. These are not render performance cards.

Re: matrox M9188 PCIe x16
Hey ision,
funny...we made some tests with the M9188 PCIe x16 last week.
And it's still true, this card solo does not work with Resolume. You need to add another videocard to your system and use it as your main render card (Resolume UI Display must be attached to this card).
We choosed a gtx 1080ti beside the M9188 PCIe x16. Now we were able to use all outputs of the matrox card + all outputs from the gtx card in Resolume.
Best wishes

Re: matrox M9188 PCIe x16
Hi,
So you are saying that if I have the Matrox and another card just for UI it will work?
Using the gtx only to UI? and the Matrox to all my projectors?
So you are saying that with this setup I can have 10 projectors and a screen for the UI
That solve my problems, I have nothing against that setup

Re: matrox M9188 PCIe x16
Yes, that is exactly what I am saying.
But keep in mind... you need a very performant rendercard to drive your 10 displays smoothly. Our 1080ti was only giving us around 30-40 fps...
Best wishes

Hi,
Ok, i understand, it's a trade-off
Do you think that a rtx 3060 is a good option?
Thank's

Re: matrox M9188 PCIe x16
A rtx 3060 and a gtx 1080ti are not that far from each other than you might think.
I have no tests nor data for you... but I would guess a 3080 would do the job. Minimum a 3070 ti for your 10 Displays at 1080

quite old post but it seems a solution to me for building a video server with a descent price.
I'm curious, what is the mobo you are using to get an RTX/GTX with the matrox that require a PCIe x16 slot ?
is it on Intel ? i can't find any AMD mobo handling a second PCIe x16 slot.
Thanks
Re: matrox M9188 PCIe x16
sorry, too much time has past, I am sadly not able to help you here
