copied effect presets don't show up

Post by p8guitar »

I copied some effect presets in my Users/~/Documents/Resolume Arena/presets/sources/ folder. Why don't they show up in Arena?
You see in the screenshot that the new copied presets (with names in uppercase letters) sit in the same folder beneath presets that I created and saved in Arena.

Which Resolume version did you copy these presets from?

Are they all for the shape chaos plugin?

Did you restart Resolume after copying? Presets are only enumerated on program start.

I got the presets form Gábor, the developer of the Shape Chaos Magic source. He used Arena 7.9.0rev111674 Feb to create the presets, on a windows 10 machine. I use MacOS 12.2.1 and Arena 7.10.0.
Yes, I restarted Arena!

Which folder did you copy the presets to exactly?

I put them here:
/Users/pdb/Documents/Resolume Arena/Presets/Sources/SHAPE CHAOS MAGIC
They sit right beneath the presets that I created myself.

pulsing triangles is also missing that's lowercase. How are the file permissions set up?

Can you share the preset files?

Apparently the problem is this parameter:
the presets that I cannot open have this "uniqueid" :
uniqueId="c_348c715f-00b8-4300-b3c8-0dfacb8249fb"

I attach an example.

presets that I created myself have this uniqueid :
uniqueId="c_b5d6c380-e8bb-4465-9d62-be886edeacbe"

of course I can open them. But I can also open Gábor's presets when the id is changed to the same id:
<Preset name="HEXA DANCE" uniqueId="c_b5d6c380-e8bb-4465-9d62-be886edeacbe"

I don't know what the id means, but Gábor found out that this is the difference between the presets.

Ok, so the ID-s you see there identify the source plugin.
Looks like you have a different version of the plugin, so the other presets are not assigned to it.

Changing the ID-s manually in the presets to the version you have, should help to get them show up.
