Update to Resolume 7.16.0 and now I can't start it.

Update to Resolume 7.16.0 and now I can't start it.

I am currently suffering from the following symptoms.

■What is my problem now?
When I started Resolume Avenue for the first time in a while,
I were notified that the 7.16.0 version had been released,
so I performed an update. As a result, an error occurred immediately after starting Resolume,
and I could no longer start it. When I bought and installed it around BlackFryday 2022,
it ran fine. It stopped working after this Update.

■Symptoms
This always appears at the beginning of the log. I don't know if this is the problem.
NVIDIA Driver is up-to-date and has been clean-installed just in case.

Failed adding application Resolume Avenue/Avenue.exe to custom nvidia profile, it's probably already present

One other thing that is interesting to me is that I have heard from other people who have been unable to start Resolume Avenue in Japanese Windows environment, it is installed in 'C:\Users\owner\OneDrive\ドキュメント\', so it cannot be started due to the Japanese path name.

I was also told to stop OneDrive and reinstall Resolume. However, it still did not start.
I deleted the entire OneDrive software just to be sure, but the result was still the same.

The installer does not seem to be able to specify the installation location, so avoiding the folder with Japanese notation itself is not possible here to begin with.

■My environment
 ‐ OS Windows 10 64bit (Software update latest)
 ‐ CPU Ryzen 5950X
 ‐ GPU RTX3080(Studio Driver 536.40 latest)
 ‐ Memory 64GB

■What did I do?
Window OS update latest
Clean installation of NVIDIA drivers
Uninstalled Resolume, restarted PC, and installed Resolume.
Uninstalled OneDrive software
Delete old Resolume folder
 C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Resolume Avenue
 C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Resolume Wire

Hmm, should have been fixed in 7.16.
Can you pelase go back to 7.13.2 from the bottom of our download page, I see you sent the crash report, we'll check it out.

I installed 7.13.2, which is said to be the latest version bootable under Japanese OS environment, and have been using it since then.

When I use Resolume, I get a notification every startup asking me to update to 7.18. I thought that the installer had finished supporting the Japanese environment by now, so I tried updating this morning. However, I got an error popup and could not start Resolume. So I reverted back to 7.13.2 and am using it again. Crash report has been sent.

Beside that, I have received an email reminder of the Resolume license upgrade deadline. In my case, it seems that if I don't upgrade my license on 11/25, I will not be able to update my software from 7.13.2.

Even with the license upgrade, the latest version, 7.18, will not run in a Japanese OS environment at this time. Could you please tell me what kind of modification plan you have for the installer and what milestones you have in mind? I am aware that whether or not to do a license upgrade depends on the results of that upgrade.

We're looking into the issue, unfortunately, unable to recreate it on our machines.

Creating a new windows user with english UI and user name should allow the latest Resolume work with.

Update notifications can be disabled in the Resolume preferences if you choose to keep the older release.

ksk_u, I also experienced the same issue as you did.

And I have found a simple solution.
Moving the personal folders resolves the issue.

Create a new folder named 'Documents2' at the same level as the Document folder.
Right-click the Document folder and open 'Properties.'
Go to the 'Location' tab and press the 'Move' button, then select the newly created 'Documents2' folder.
When the 'Move Folder' dialog appears, click 'Yes' in the confirmation message.

You will be able to launch the latest version of the Resolume!
