The MST devices sound trivial and more expensive than a card that already has all the outputs. I do suspect that it is a driver issue as well. I was hoping I could get some more info from the Resolume staff to troubleshoot the issue instead of guessing which driver to use.

Considering Trivial means "of little value or importance", I'm still not sure if I understand what you mean.

MST is an integral part of DisplayPort technology which is rapidly becoming the digital display interface of choice since it's royalty free. MST gives us the opportunity to split the bandwidth of a single DP output into multiple outputs turning a lot of cards that only have 4 outputs into 6 output GPUs. Nothing trivial about it and the price point is actually quite low compared to Matrox TH2G.

But that's all besides the point and I hope you figure out what's causing the problems with your HD5870 Eyefinity 6 as it is a good GPU all around.

We have no idea why the card would behave like that, Dayveejay.

Could you use the Feedback tab to contact us directly?

Joris,
I submitted the log through the feedback form when it was acting up. As I noted in the form it appears as if Resolume is causing Catalyst Control Center and part of the driver to crash. I noticed that I was also able to see my desktop where the preview and output is supposed to be. I would be happy to provide you with any info you would like to resolve this issue. Please contact me using the email address I submitted through the form.

In the meantime I took Oaktown's advice and downgraded the driver to version 13.4. While I've only connected one additional monitor (for a total of two outputs), it seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks Oaktown!
