  • Advatek PixLite 16 has 16 or 32 data outputs (up to two Artnet universes each in 16 output mode)
Digidot C4 has 2 or 4 data outputs (up to three Artnet universes each)
Enttec Pixelator Mini has 8 data outputs (up to two Artnet universes each with Plink Injectors)
so if you want to control 12 completely independent single wire SPI strips (VCC/GND/Data), you would need to get:
  • 1 Advatek PixLite 16
    3 Digidot C4 with 4 universes minimum
2 Enttec Pixelator Mini (or 1 Enttec Pixelator) + 12 Plink Injectors
and if you want to control 12 completely independent double wire SPI strips (VCC/GND/Data/Clock), you would need to get:
  • 1 Advatek PixLite 16
    6 Digidot C4 with 2 universes minimum
    Enttec Pixelator won't work

Okay Thanks. Seems like the more cost effective solution would be the Advatek PixLite 16. Have any opinions on the Showjockey DMX Over Ethernet 16*512 DMX Channels with my setup? It seems reasonably priced at about $600.

It's important to understand that the Advatek and the Showjockey are fundamentally different products. They can both control individual addressable LEDs via DMX, but what type of LED they control is very different.

I think the first question you need to answer for yourself is do you want to use DMX LED tubes (ie out of the box, premade lights, mounted in an enclosure with a diffuser, and with their own power supply and DMX inputs), or do you want to control LED pixel strips (blank strips with LEDs with nothing more than 3 or 4 wires coming out of them).

In other words, this or this?

Once you've decided on that, we can help you choose the right controller for it.

Joris, I am interested in working with LED pixel strips. My funding for this project isn't biggest. Im building a 8x8x8 foot wireframe cube where the edges are the LED pixel strips hence the desire for 12 individually addressable strips. I'm guessing the pix lite 16 would be for the pixel strips judging from looking at the outputs.

What about the F16v3?

What do you think the advantages/disadvantages when comparing it to the pix lite 16?
