Solution found! - Reliable realtime BPM analyzing
Re: Solution found! - Reliable realtime BPM analyzing
I've been using it for a few months now and it's a SOLID app, no issues so far. Internal mic works surprisingly well, but when connected to a DAC straight to FOH it slays! It's also using some Ableton stuff I believe, so solid code behind it all. Worth the $$. Joris strikes again! haha <3

Whoaa been testing pulse and I'm loving it. The midi learn function doesn't seem to be working for me however. But the actual sync is really great.

Hello there, I wanted to get in touch with you again to share a longer*ish*-term experience with the Pulse App by hybridvisuals. I've been able to test it in different scenarios: a Techno Festival, with a Top40 Band on a corporate show, and with a not-so-great DJ who hasn't heard of smooth transitions and plays songs for only 40 seconds before switching to a different music style.
Pulse performed excellent at the Techno Festival. Throughout the night, I might have re-tapped around 5 times, but other than that, it kept me right on track. With the Top40 Band, it was a bit more challenging. If the song was drum-heavy, it ran smoothly without any issues, but for other tracks, I had to tap briefly at the beginning. Even with the lousy DJ, Pulse surprisingly kept up quite well. When the BPM differences were too large, some manual adjustments were needed, but overall, it worked great!
Thanks, Joris! Great job!

Re: Solution found! - Reliable realtime BPM analyzing
Looking at the pulse video, it seems that the four bars around the bpm display all light up at the same time, each beat. Compared to other Link info displays this misses the option to show the actual position as in 1234 being shown as a growing bar that resets every full (musical) bar.
Since "being in sync, but not in position" is giving me a headache from time to time: Is this configurable or a valid feature request? Asking here, since you´re actual users

I was an early adopter of Pulse, I can confirm what cosmowe said, for electronic music in general is fantastic, tested in techno festivals and clubs, while when quoting "with a not-so-great DJ who hasn't heard of smooth transitions and plays songs for only 40 seconds before switching to a different music style" (comporate events and club with commercial music) you need to adjust yourself.
For this kind of event I rely (in reality I am not because is not so missing critical so to speak) in BeatKontrol (assuming you have pro dj link)
