Does resolume only capture via firewire or usb.
I've got a dv cam connected to my cards tv in and it doesn't work.

Any ideas?

I have had no luck with any analog?TV inputs, but DV seems to work fine. Make sure your camera is plugged in and turned on before you start Resolume. Also, don't turn off the camera with Resolume running or it may lock-up, - i find loading a new deck "kills" the camera feed, and the only way to get it back is restart Resolume - but i haven't tested that much yet.

I was using the s-video input on my card not tv-in sorry. I've tried turning the cam on before starting resolume but no capture appears. Something is being detected because the source option displays a detection sig of 1 when the cam is on and 0 when its off...

typo, should have read - "i have had no luck with any analog/TV inputs"

i've tried rca and s-video on two different input cards, the driver is listed in resolume, but none work.

DV is fine

I have had the same issue as everyone with resolume hanging when the video stream is stopped. I found different ways to go around it.

1) When you see the video will stop (use a timer if needed) remove (put something else) it from the 3 live tracks, and don't put it back until the video stream is back again, resolume should not hang (technique used while rewinding tapes)

2) If it hangs don't panic, restore the videostream in the way you want (rewind tape 2 seconds for example) and prepare to use the first trick. as soon as the video stream is back resolume will work again.
3) easiest way, use a piece of hardware that allows you to switch between video inputs. These hardware most of the time have a standard output like a blue or black screen that will send a video stream to resolume and it will never hang because of this video problem again.

As of loading decks, if resolume tells the video stream is already use just reload the video feed track from a saved deck and everything will be back to normal. To avoid this problem when you load decks, try not to crash the video feed with another clip and you won't have any more problems

I have just got a new laptop with a firewire port.
Running win xp. I have loaded resolume and connected my cannon dv cam to the port - my question is where can I get a universal capture driver for my dv cam that resolume will detect and thus start capturing the video stream?

sorry if this a basic question, but has the dv driver turned up in the generators menu in resolume (up near the topleft of the screen)?
afaik camera should be switched on and running before starting up resolume.

Hy to all :)

Try this nice plugin : Webcam DV ( http://www.orangemicro.com/ )

It works great. You can get in resolume analog or 1394 i-link input :)

I have a Sony TRV-DRC110E wich is connected to FireWire;
but when i use it as a webcam in MSN messenger 6 it always goes standby after 5 minutes.
Do I have to keep recording just to keep it on or is there some kind of other way?
