-Start the application MIDI mapping from the menu.
-Look for the Key Map box in the bottom left of the screen to select whether to focus on the currently selected layer or the deck.
-Choose "deck" and make sure all layers you want to map contain a videofile!

Well, I did not delete the file itself, but I just deleted the standard mapping in Avenue that comes with the install. I think it has nothing to do with the possibility itself to map it like my mapping, but it just gave me some conflicts while I'm using the same notes to control the transport controls in my mapping that where used to change clips in the standard mapping...
gradek wrote:I'm not using the default, although my mapping config is based of the default file, I just saved under a new name after I did my mapping. You think some controls get unlocked if there is no midiconfig for resoulume to read when the app is launched?
don't know.. but I can't imagine.. I actually did the same:.. deleted the standard mapping and just saved it after I made my own.
While I was making my mapping I accidently mapped the same knop to different parameters at first, so in practice you could map the same knop to different parameters. It isn't very helpfull though, because everything moves when you move 1 knob

Hi GeeEs,
I was able to get avenue to display mapping for all transport controls on each layer, however I had to use Focus: Deck for it to work. Like you said each layer had to have a clip active and playing for it to register for mapping.
Using focus Layer like you suggested just displays the mapping controls for the active layer in my case in (image attached below) the transport controls are displayed on layer two instead of one, I guess because I had a clip selected for preview on that layer.
So It seems to work with either Composition Mapping or Application Mapping focus Deck as long as each layer has a video clips active and playing. Cool Stuff! Thanks for sharing your work around tip.

Ah yes.. I See I made a mistake there... It has to be "deck" focus indeed !
(I will edit my post!)

I've successfully managed to map all the layer transport controls, but then it seems to forget the mapping whenever i change clip in that layer. Is anyone else finding this?
Please dont say i have to map transport for every individual clip or something?

At the moment, the layer transport controls basically mirror the controls of the clip properties tab. So when you change the clip, those controls are updated to reflect the status of the currently selected clip, both in the clip properties tab as well as in the layer transport controls.
We originally figured that this would be the most useful behaviour, namely that you can keep the individual settings of clips intact, but still have one easy place to access them.
There has however been a lot of feedback and discussion on this, and a lot of users would like the layer transport controls to override the individual clip settings, and basically turn it into a 'master control' for all clips triggered in that layer.
We are looking at how to best implement a change in the setup like this. For now though, unfortunately the only way to achieve the result you're after is to indeed map every individual clip's controls to the same midi signal.
I hope that makes things a bit clearer.

Thanks Joris, that does explain it.
so if i map every clip in one deck, will those settings stay for the clips in the other decks? or will i need to map every clip in every deck? (i think that may stretch my patience too far!)
