It turns out the solution is pretty simple.. For some reason, the audio transport displays the time in samples, not in seconds. This is ofcourse very misleading because it's formatted as a time-string.
This will be fixed in the upcoming release (3.2.0)
The auto-bpm detection can be turned off by selecting another sync mode in the drop-down combobox, left of the displayed bpm. As you might already know, if you want the clip to play back at normal speed, just type in the same bpm as the host bpm.. or just switch back to timeline mode (above the right-hand corner of the clip transport).
