I have experimented with DXV, but the file size increase is significant. Plus, I think it is much less compatible with other programs?

file size should be less of a concern than playback. dxv will play in any program that supports quicktime, but it will only be hardware accelerated in avenue - its MUCH faster than other codecs in avenue.

OK, I submitted a log from last night. Three crashes, which is different from the usual freezes. I disabled the Audio FFT input, as I wasn't using it last night. The crashes seemed to happen when I pressed the Resync button to bring the loops and effects back in time with the music. Straight up CRASH! "Avenue has stopped working". CPU temps stayed around 47C. I have 8GB of RAM now, though I don't think that matters much for Resolume? Seriously frustrating.

I recorded some decent clips, so I can show examples of what I'm doing. It's not so much complicated as it is fast-paced. I even recorded the freeze in one instance when I was using FRAPS instead of the integrated record function.

BTW I was back to using the old Radeon 4670 last night. The GPU doesn't seem to matter, still get freezes/crashes in either case.

I wanted to follow up on this, sorry for the delay.

Support suggested my codec was the problem, even though it is the official second choice listed in the Resolume documentation. They also said mixing codecs in the same comp is a bad idea (seems ludicrous IMO to not be able to drop DXV and PicVideo into the same comp).

Well, it looks like my SSDs are the problem. I started running my clips from a dedicated 7200RPM drive, and, while the performance of drag/drop, thumbnails, etc. is not as fast, there have been no freezes during my last three shows :-]

This is confusing, because my SSDs caused zero problems for some months after first installing them. Either the performance has degraded, or something I am doing in Resolume (speed ramping? fast random playback? BPM sync?) causes freezes when clips are being read from an SSD.

I did have a nightmare trying to install a Crucial c300, as it caused even more freezing than the OCZs.

There is something weird going on with SSDs and Resolume. I'm not sure why the program freezes when using SSDs. If I ever get an answer, I will post it here.

Is IR Mapio 1.2.3 or FrRGBDelay beta (from 1210visuals.net) in use? because they caused crashes on my system. Since I dropped FrRGBDelay for now and updated Mapio to 1.2.4 everything's alright.
