My favorite technique is to use the search function.
Re: Output via capture cards not supported at this time
Hello. Has anyone tried a usb to vga adapter on a Macintosh as this http://es.startech.com/en/AV/USB-Video- ... USB2VGAPRO ? I want to connect a thunderbolt blackmagic for transmitting video and while he was captured by blackmagic, and the only option I can think to do is this. The video will have much fluid or Latency? My computer is a Macbook Pro 2011 and only has one USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt. Anyone know another option?
Sorry for my English, I'm from Spain.
thanks

These adaptors will NOT have a fluid frame rate. Choppy. They are not made for video. I haven't seen this model but every other usb to vga adaptor I've seen has been choppy and uses lots of CPU. They are made for another desktop and are great for spreadsheets.

If you use this card. http://www.matrox.com/video/en/products ... epageflash and then plug in this USB 3.0 Card. into the Matrox Card? Would a 2011 17inch MBP 8.3, i7, 8gbddr3 be fast enough for this?

I suppose most people already saw this, but for those who didn't: http://vdmx.vidvox.net/blog/black-syphon => output through blackmagic cards: possible!

If you have an HDMI output available (or an DVI/miniDP to HDMI adapter), I'd use a BMD HyperDeck Shuttle 2 with a SSD and create a screen/slice that outputs your composition as 1920x1080.
Now if you want to capture audio as well, you could output VGA and use a VGA + Audio to HDMI converter (such as a the IO Crest VGA to HDMI Convertor with Audio support) or embed the audio from the DJ onto your HDMI signal with an HDMI audio embedder unit.

I have a Blackmagic ultrastudio pro that has hdmi/sdi in and out, I just use it for the in normally, but I'll do some testing. being USB3 not thunderbolt I wonder if it will work.
