I'm also interested in the idea of building your own midi device to your exact needs.

KORG microKontrol?
http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?a_pro ... egory_id=1

Hello, has anyone tried the KORG microKontrol with resolume? My main question is if the endless rotary encoders will function with resolume. And if so how?
The rotary encoders do not have a min and max value, they just spin round and round. Im not sure what kind of midi data they actually send.

Thanks for any info. Alternatively, does anyone know how the novation remote 25's endless rotory encoders work with resolume?

How the microKontrol works with resolume will depend on how the endless rotary encoders can be configured on the microkontrol

If they can be configured to loop round to 0 at the maximum value, they could be useful for looping the playhead.

If they cannot be configured to loop, they will act just like any other knob (but with the ability to switch between configs so they control different values and remember their values)

The microkontrol manual is available online:

I'm sure the answers are in there.

Dan.

I'm trying to setup an internal sequencer which is running on the background.
With an tool Midi Joke you can internal patch you're midi.

Now is my asking, is it possible to use my keyboard so i can play some pattern from an midi-sequencer when Resolume is active. Or overruled Resolume the keyboard??

When not, then i have to make some neat midi patterns which control Resolume. So I can put some Alpha triggering on the different layers or something :)

Hi all.

I tried resolume with a yamaha CS1x.
Assigning knobs to fade in and out the 3 video layers, and using the touch sensitive keyboard to select effects. I only spent an hour or so working like this but it works fine for me!

What about a yamaha DX200? It's a tabletop box with knobs and pads. I think it will be very convenient.

i have yet to find something i really like.. i have a midicontrol mini keyboard with 12 knobs on it.. works okay..

my main gripe is most pad style controllers dont have enuff buttons for me (id like to have one for every clip in the interface).. the mpc2000 and korg microcontrol fall short a row and column.. that suxxors

im not a musician so i haev to put black tape every 5th key so i know where a new row starts for triggering.. i find myself going to the keyboard alot just because i know a computer keyboard in the dark and not a music keyboard

anyways....

Maybe something like:
http://www.m-audio.net/index.php?do=pro ... e310498fa8

It has 25 keys. 20 to address to the clips. 5 free for filters to select for over the total 3 layers ?

The X-Session from Evolution is VERY great. Very small and handy tool.
I only miss the possibility to set an effect with one midi note to an layer. You can only use it for an global effect.
The programmers had the thought that you put at home the good effects on the different clips and save it to an desk?

Maybe for an next version to allow one midi-control key to control different values.
Example, on this midi-device i have an sort kind of scratch tool. Sometimes i want to have the control at the same time for other things.

Damn! I have to wait 2 weekends to try this tool with Resolume....
