Composition MIDI mapping disappears

I save my composition with MIDI mapping on just one column trigger and tap tempo trigger, so the DJ could control those. Two shows in a row by now, either one or the other thing shows up not mapped.
I re-map it with the DJ, save the file, yet the next show - same thing, one or the other trigger are not there and we have to re-map.

I am using MIDI Jet Pro for wireless MIDI transmission.
Magic MT4 to send MIDI to me from the DJ.
Arena 4.1.6

By my logic, the hardware shouldn't matter though, the mapping should stick and re-appear just as I saved it, regardless of stuff being plugged in or not?

Strange. Could you contact us with the before and after comps?

Surely enough the mapping on one of the buttons disappeared again (see screen shot).
I definitely saved it after it was mapped (as the image from my previous post looked like).
I am attaching both my compositions (the one that opened with mapping missing, and same one after I saved it re-mapped in the posts below).

Attaching the composition with mapping missing. About to re-map. Will attach re-mapped composition after.

Here's the composition (just saved) where both buttons are MIDI mapped properly (attaching a screen shot and the composition):

Thanks for the files, Zebbler.

It looks like that aside from the BPM itself, none of the midi shortcuts for the BPM tap/resync buttons are saved in Comp Midi Map.

I'll make a ticket for this.

Just out of curiosity, why do you use Comp Midi Map for this ( as opposed to loading a different App Midi Map via the preferences) ?

As to your question - I didn't even really think about it too much. I needed to assign MIDI triggers to two of my buttons, so I figured I'd try to save them with my composition (as opposed to application, since I only want to use them for this particular composition, and not in every case).

If there's a better way for me to go about it, that is guaranteed to save my settings, please let me know, otherwise I have to re-map those buttons every day! (I'm on tour).

Thank you,

Z.

One other thing that's been bugging me is that once in a while my bpm ticker STOPS completely. My bpm reader still says 120 bpm or whatnot, but the bpm ticker is stopped completely. I didn't pause it or anything like that. It just stopped. And since all of my clips are bpm synced - nothing triggers anymore (since the it assumes the bpm clock stopped). I am not getting clock from any external devices... Why would this happen? On restart it all works fine. The only thing I noticed (about when that happens) is that I use After Effects or Adobe Premiere Pro (during setup), maybe it kills it somehow? This should probably be another post. But if there's an easy answer... I'll take it! Otherwise, gotta restart now.

I switched to using application level mapping and saved the map file externally.
I observed that it wasn't working at all when the same note was assigned on both composition and application levels. Nothing would happen at all. After deleting all notes from my composition level mapping, it all worked like a charm. I restarted and the mapping stayed (application level mapping).
But yeah, it seems that on composition level, tap tempo midi map doesn't save with the file.
Thanks for the tips, and cheers.

I haven't had the bpm mapping stick for about 5 months. I sent an email awhile ago but didn't hear back.

Only the bpm mapping in composition. I'm just used to mapping it whenever i start a gig now.
