you will not be able to add .avi files
video files should be recoded to quicktime-DXV, if you want to avoid playback trouble.

So you want to say that the software is completely useless for me because it dont even support any kind of codec?

Sorry, but i cant recode all files every time....

I say that for the best realtime performance you should convert to DXV.
some codecs with keyframed design are not easily decoded when playing backwards,or random, and I presume you would want Resolume to follow your movements in real time.

I think all files which can be played back by quicktime should be playable in resolume, but someone will come and correct me if I'm wrong.
I had some mp4-s i think (h264) I could play, but I essentially use DXV, because the design of it allows for fast jumps, backward playing etc.

Okay but if that would work, all would be fine..........

But i cant even add any kind, except jpeg, to resolume. If i drag and drop any media file just nothing happens.

i dont care for fast jumps or something like that, i just want to stream different kinds of media to an projector.

ok lets see if we can help you.

You started Resolume
you found your video in the explorer / right bottom side of resolume ( source / ... )

Does the Files have a Yellow X their or is a litle preview shown ( still image)?

If yellow X -> Resolume cant handle this file / File is Broken
little preview -> file should be fine to play.

drag / drop if from here to a free space
preview it (press the Name under the Media) [should be played now in the lower screen on the left bottom side]
launch it (press the Video window) ( should be played in the upper screen on the left bottom side)

were exactly nothing happen ?!

Ok, i got a big yellow "X" on the files but i really wonder why because with vlc or quicktime i can play them.

And i got a problem with Adobe premiere pro i cant choose the codex DXV.

EDIT: And the new problem is that i dont have sound. I tried mp3 and dxv.

is quicktime installed in the default place ?
if not reinstall it. That should fix the missing of DXV in adobe,

also DXV should be part of the Avenue, but i also installed the DXV codec manuall a 2nd time.

mpeg steamclip is a good tool to convert files into DXV ( batchlist is possible ( but only without Alpha channel))

But in generall you should be possible to play .mov files in Resolume ( without using DXV)

Wow, thanks a lot!
reinstallation of quicktime into the default directory fixed the problem.

If you now can help me with my interesting sound problem you would be my hero!
If i play a clip in resolume it sound like, i dont know a word for that, it just sounds like shit. Sorry for the bad word but i cant discribe it.
Its like you sound driver is broken or something like that.

But it cant the driver cause other applications work fine.

sry i dont use sound at all, but i know some places were you can take a look and play a little bit around.

Main Menu / preferences / audio ( buffer size / output ...)

also if you run the Demo version you should here "resolume" in a robot voice if this sound ok then you know at least that the output of resolume in generell is ok.

Enjoy ;)
and i´m happy i could help you at some points.
