I know this issue Im having is not because of Resolume, but I didn't know a better place to ask.
It used to be recognized and worked perfectly.

I reformatted my laptop with the same Win 7 disc resently and its an unknown device now.
There's no driver for it on Akai's site and if I remember correctly it was plug-n-play and I hadnt installed anything before.
What might be the issue?

Have you tested your MPK Mini on a different machine to confirm that it works?

Um, I think someone has broken my controller's USB port when I left it in a venue for 2 days and has attempted to fix it, poorly.
You're right, on one other PC it also fails to be recognized and on another one it flip flops between being found and name properly displayed but not responding in Resolume and not being recognized at all.

I checked the pcb and I'm not electrical engineer but I doubt AKAI does such a poor soldering job:

Can anyone spot anything wrong or damaged?

pin2 seems to be bent, or broken.
that would be the data- pin,if I'm not mistaken.

That would explain why it gets powered but doesnt function properly.
Although, do you have any device with a mini-USB port you could check? I only have one external HDD and the same pin seems bend, dunno maybe its how it is supposed to be.
If not I could get the port desoldered and a new one soldered on its place.

this is a usb drive and my card reader,
do you use your devices with the same cable? maybe the cable bends the pin.

I see. This definitely needs the port replaced, and it clearly has been already. I see poor solder job and flux leftover.

BTW, its odd but your ports seem a bit different than what are on my devices. The pins are surrounded by plastic on all sides while on mine one side is open.
