Hi all.
Please have a look at the attached Proxima C510W specs and advise if it is good enough to run video mapping at small/medium sized clubs. They are cheap and I want to try to buy at least four of them.
Thank y'all for reading my post.
Is this Projector fine for mapping ?
Re: Is this Projector fine for mapping ?
There are so many variables involved in choosing the right projector that without knowing exactly what you're after it's hard to tell you whether this particular projector is fine for your application and quite honestly it goes beyond the scope of this forum.
That being said, I can give you a few pointers:
That being said, I can give you a few pointers:
- - At 5,000 to 5,500 lumens the projector should be bright enough to get nice images up to about 10-12ft wide in environment with controlled lighting but you'll need to make sure you don't get too much bounce and that you have good projection surfaces.
- It has a high contrast ratio (5,000:1) so your black will be dark and your colors vibrant
- It has H/W lens shift so it'll be flexible (+/-10% H and +/-40% V)
- You can't change the lens so unless the 1.48~2.47:1 works for you, don't buy it!
- It has an HDMId port but no HDBaseT so if you need to send your signal from a farther than 15ft, you'll need to buy adapters

Thanks a lot Oaktown. Much appreciated.
I'll have to buy first and test because I will be presenting visuals/mapping in small/medium sized clubs and pubs.
Peace!

Since you'll be presenting in small/medium sized venues, you might want to consider a unit with an interchangeable lens system to give you more flexibility.I will be presenting visuals/mapping in small/medium sized clubs and pubs

I don't know what your budget is but for what it's worth, I've become a big fan of the Epson G6xxx and G7xxx projectors because of their price point and great lens choices. I use them for most of the small permanent installations we do and our clients are always very happy with the results.
Re: Is this Projector fine for mapping ?
I use Epson 1775 and 1776 a lot. Theyre tiny and you always find a good spot for them.
Theyre round about 200 to 300€ with less than 200h on ebay.
1,06-1,28:1 is sth i can work with in almost every club. I use Manfrotto superclamps and F810 avenger babyplates with ball head
They dont like fog.
