Advanced output mapping masks: Point by Point invisible on output

I really like the point by point mapping options to create masks in advanced output.

My problem is that i cant see where i am on the output until i set the first point.
When the first point is set my cursor gets visible and i can see the line and point.

I always have to do the starting point by feeling > set it > am able to see again > finish the structure point by point > move the statring point to the place it should have been.
