Hi guys,
I am here testing the demo version of resolume for about 1 week now, it was flawless until the last windows 10 update. Now I can't even play a video on resolume, everytime I load, my computer freezes for a while and then Resolume crashes. I already tried reinstalling but no success at all, is anyone getting the same issue?
My rig is a Laptop Razer Blade 2016 with a Intel Core i7 6700HQ, GTX 1060 Mobile 6GB VRAM and 16 gigs of ram.
Problems with the latest Windows 10 Update(creator's edition)
Re: Problems with the latest Windows 10 Update(creator's edition)
I also get a message on the bottom left of resolume saying I am on low memory.
Re: Problems with the latest Windows 10 Update(creator's edition)
I have a windows 10 laptop here I'll check it out.
Edit: It seems to be running fine avenue 4.5.2 and arena 5.1. Yeah I know they are both out of date and I'd update but I got a out of town thing I need this laptop to work for so I'm not going to take that risk!
But the laptop does have the update and is running Resolume.

That is very likely unrelated to your other problem. A few questions to help sort this out:renanmarc wrote:I also get a message on the bottom left of resolume saying I am on low memory.
- How big is your comp?
How many layers?
Are you using lots of effects?
Is all your media converted to DXV3?
Re: Problems with the latest Windows 10 Update(creator's edition)
I tried with the old composition I had, whic had 4 layers, no effects and 4 4k videos(converted to dxv) running at a time, but it always worked right these 4 4k videos. After the post, I reinstalled Resolume and tried with the example composition that comes with it and got the same problem.Oaktown wrote:That is very likely unrelated to your other problem. Re: Problems with the latest Windows 10 Update(creator's edition)
I thought it could've been my graphics card so I ran a 3DMark benchmark, everything ran smooth.
Re: Problems with the latest Windows 10 Update(creator's edition)
I forgot to say that this problem is with the Arena, I tried with avenue and it's flawless. I also tried running arena 4.2.2, same problem as the latest arena 5.1.3, also tried with 5.1.0.
EDIT: I tried now in my desktop, with the same Windows 10 update, but with a GTX 660 and got EXACTLY the same problem, even the "low memory" message.

Re: Problems with the latest Windows 10 Update(creator's edition)
I just installed the update to jump in the same boat as you.
I have a 2017 Razer Blade 1TB GTX1060. Running the current version of Arena.
After the update i was getting 40fps on the test image and about 26fps on 2 1080p videos (DXV3).
Immediately I said "I bet this is running on the integrated GPU". Sure enough.....
Go to your Nvidia control panel and then to your 3d settings. SOMEHOW this update changes your previously set defaults.
I had to change Arena (Total War in nvidia??), All my Adobe and C4D applications BACK to high performance Nvidia rather than integrated. I'm back up to 140fps as we speak.
I'm hoping this will be a quick fix for you.
I'm about to connect this to a video wall and have my fingers crossed that this will also fix that damn Optimus scaling bug. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Problems with the latest Windows 10 Update(creator's edition)
Just connected it to a wall and sure enough, RS2 fixed the Optimus bug I've been complaining about for a few months. Update FTW!!
Be sure to check your power settings and your default program settings as well. IDK why it keeps putting Microsoft Edge back as default rather than Chrome lol.
So far so good. I'll post any bugs I run across, but for the moment I am very happy with this update.

Thank you for your workaround but even before I see your post, I've given a quick look on google for "programs that stopped working on windows creator's update" and found a post about GTA V saying that what worked to then was unninstalling MSI Afterburner, which happened to be installed in both machines, uninstalled from the Razer Blade and worked like a charm, now with a better performance, before the update I could barely play a single 4k video at a constant 60fps, no I am getting about 120 fps on a single 4k video and running at smooth 45fps 4 at once! I had already checked the power options even before posting here. For those having this issue eventually, unninstall MSI Afterburner or maybe any overclocking program. What is this Optimus Scalling bug you were having?
