Max for live patches issues

I'm trying to use the "Resolume Clip Launcher" to trigger clips from Ableton to Resolume, the problem is that I'm triggering from a MIDI channel within ableton and as soon as I drop the max patch on it, it converts itself to an audio channel!?? Is there a way to fix this?
