show me a better laptop than this

Post by rawdesigns »

Origin just updated their EVO15-s and this bad ass skinny bitch can do 4 outs. I'd like to see if anyone knows of a more powerful laptop that's about the same thickness (0.7inches)

Looks like it has 3 outs. 2 mini display and one hdmi plus your monitor. Since it Max's at a 1070 I'd look at the 1080 models from pc specialist. Some even has full desktop CPUs.

I wonder if you are able to use one of those usb type C ports for a 4th out?

You won't get a fourth external display over USB to run off the GPU, as you're both limited by it only being USB 3.1 (rather than a combination of USB and thunderbolt) and running up against the display count limit of nVidia cards.

Also, because the mini-displayport ports are also only mini-displayport, you can't add an external GPU enclosure to either run SLI 1070's or to double the output count.

What about using a mini display port hub to get the 4th?

Mst hubs are great(I have a USB c one for my Thunderbolt port) but you can't go beyond the cards limit. Gtx 10xx range is 4. 3 outputs and one monitor. Amd is 7, that's why the new Mac can do 4 outs. The datapath or matrox route is still the best.
