RGB source

I would love to see a new Artnet Color Source that would function just like a reversed 1x1 fixture with all the information (Color Spaces, IP, Subnet,Universe, and Start Channel).

This would achieve two things:
  • 1) allow to make solid color clip with color matched with any LED instrument in the light plot
    2) use resolume fixture color back in the composition as a variable solid color clip

How would Resolume be able to sniff out the start channel and colour space(rgbw, rgba) from artnet? RDM? Or would you create the paper work in Resolume?

Or are you just referring to advanced output fixtures?

Would kinda be like Anglo’s mapper but for Resolume fixtures.

I did create something in touch designer that did the second. You had to use a loop back adapter and send everything out via touch.

No sniffing, just drop down menus. Think of it as a source fixture that gets it’s color from artnet input.

I realize TD is one approach but having it as a built in source would simplify the process and economize resources.

So just more documentation then manually mapping RGB add subtract to a solid colour?

That actually may be a good starter project for someone to create an effect, just a series of panels and then you manually map the artnet to.

I'm just finishing up a touch designer program for EDC but maybe this would be a good starter program for me to learn on. Effect that creates solid white with just useful drop downs in Resolume. Then map with Resolume's mapper.

im interesting with being able to create a solid color source with color space data from either a light board or from a Resolume fixture. This would be similar to using the color picker except with Artnet Data.

I’m more interested in a source than an effect but either could work.

either Resolume mapper or DMX info.

Said effect but meant source, now a days with dragging effects like source's they're all sorta similar. But totally, make it a source. But even a solid with RGB being controlled by resolume's dmx input wouldn't be hard. Then just create drop downs or value box's that match the patch info. Make a little check box for CMY, then you're gold.

Give me afew weeks, gonna start looking into building my own effects and when i get this working i'll publish it here, wait till after edc tho.
