Synchronizing SMPTE quickly

Dear Visualists,

I am still a beginner but have a request for help, surely there must be photon conjurers out there who have battled with similar issues.

So I have a Mac laptop with ableton that has a smtpe linked to a track and a win laptop with arena 6 receiving it. Fps etc are all aligned. Only thing I am struggling with is to find a way how to deal with the delay (always varying across venues due to sound setup and cabling ) and quickly synchronize it.

Maybe one of you has sth like a sample clip where certain signals sounds are exactly matched with certain image frames to make me able to synch them up real fast? That is the idea I had, and if someone has such a file or another idea how to accurately synch it real quick, you will have helped this rookie immensely.
