Multiple screen/output question

Does anyone now if the following set-up will work (before I go ahead and buy the hardware)

I want to use Avenue-7 as a multi-channel clip source for my vintage video lab (basically a set up I have put together with old forgotten hardware video mixers, which I love for adding actual analog/early digital grit to my stuff - Panasonic WJ50 x2, Ultimatte400/500, GV Indigo switcher, etc)

The problem I have is syncing all my video sources together (meaning: starting multiple clips at exactly the same time) so I thought a possible solution would be to use Avenue-7 on my macbook pro (2019 intel) for playing back 4 clips at the same time and sending out to the various switcher / hardware inputs for processing in real time (the inputs I have are either SDI or converted to analog from SDI with my existing setup, and I work at 720 x 576)

I was thinking of getting a Blackmagic DeckLink Duo 2 with a StarTech Thunderbolt to PCIe chassis. I think this would give me 4 x SDI outputs, but would I then be able to use Avenue-7 to send 4 clips out via the DeckLink to my SDI vision mixer inputs?

Any help would be much appreciated

Ben

Capture card output is only available in Arena.

Thanks for the reply

So is it not possible to use multi-output PCIe cards in Avenue?

How do you route to multiple screens in Avenue?

Cheers, Ben

You can use your main GPU, or other GPU-s.
You can create Screens in the Advanced output, and select the input are from the composition.
The selected image will be stretched to the output.

So just to be clear, in Avenue there is no way of having more than one screen output, unless I want to have the main screen "stretched" over more than one screen?

How does it know if I have more than one screen connected?

You can create multiple screens in the advanced output for sending to external displays in Avenue. https://resolume.com/support/en/advanced-output

For example, if you have a double wide 1080p composition, you can make the left half of the composition go out to display 1 by adjusting your input slice in screen1 to take the left side of the composition.
Then similarly adjust the screen2 slice to take the right side. That will work fine for two 1080p outputs.

OK so it looks like this could be my solution, as I only need to get an SD signal out to my 4 outputs

Thanks! I will let you know how I get on
