Using someone else's music for my demo (licensing?)
I'm making VJ demos and sending them to various bands in hopes of working with them. I'm using THAT band's music, and watermarking my name as the visual creator and their ©name as music creator. My question is: can I use some of that demo in my own show reel (or social media) if I give them music credit, whether or not I work with them? Not sure about licensing.

Ask the copyright owner if they'd allow it.

If it's transformative and adds value to their work, I thought it could qualify as "Fair use". Of course I'd rather have their approval, just curious.

That's not remotely how it works
