Have an install that has been running a i7-6700 for years. I'm replacing the PC and want to stick with a small form factor PC utilizing a 65W CPU. Looks like my best bet is a i7-14700 which only have a base core of 2.1GHz compared to the i7-6700's 3.4Ghz. The Turbo speed is increased though from 4.0 to 5.4GHz.
Should I be worried or just go all in on new Socket Type and architecture improvements all around:
- more efficiency at lower clock speeds
- more cores and thread help
- higher performance per watt
- up to date advanced features like PCIe and memory
Thank you!
