saving or loading preferences corrupts preference file

with 2.4 beta & 2.4 final i've been pulling my hair out trying to get my preferences saved and loaded. it turns out that if I do either, save or load, my midi effect preferences disappear. everything else seems fine. to get by this i've just don't use the save or load feature and it seems to save it by default. i'm concerned that when the next version appears I'll have to setup it all up again.

Hi ecin,
Do you have this problem when loading a new midi xml file?
Resolume loads/saves all settings automatically during startup and shutdwon.
So could you tell me exactly when this problem appears, then i can track it down easier.
