Why i still use Resolume 5

i work with Resolume and Visution Mapio
still having hard times using R6 or R7
here are my struggles:
- Audio FFT works different and will not stick to 0/100%, its always above 0%/under 100%
it makes some Workflows to blend/trigger Effects by FFT impossible.
I could do a Workaround with a Audio FFT in vvvv which sends me OSC for example - but i don't see why i should go this complicated path.
- Edge Detection (and maybe other similar effect) does not work in combination with effects which like "transform" the texture - it works with colorizing etc. but not with "deforming" effects - also not with Visution Mapio.
this has a huge impact on my style/workflow and also can't get a workaround - maybe in R7 with Wire or a fixed ffgl effect.
- sadly there is no support for Visution Mapio in R7 (not the fault of Resolume).
and this is also very very sad cause it still is a pain to map with advanced output and keystone effects, masks etc... simply not a good workflow compared with Mapio.
maybe any other suggestions/workarounds or hope to see "Features"/fixes like this in the future?

Envelopes are great for tweaking parameter response:

Mapio supports texture sharing input and output, so you could chain it into a Resolume7 workflow.
We can do discounted upgrades to v7 from v5, if you're interested, check your shop account or contact us on
mail@resolume.com with your v5 serial.
How is the mapio workflow easier for you?

ok, maybe Envelopes can fix those situations. Still think its "sad" that the FFT works in another way - makes no sense for me in any Situation but okay.
i use Mapio in R5/R6 mainly as plugin.
I can drop it on any instance (Clip, Layer, Group and Composition) and still can do stuff like Soft Edge in the Advanced Output.
I have the mapped Output on the Preview and don't need an extra Screen if i would map in R6/R7 only
I can drop Effects on the mapped output - NOT possible in the Resolume Workflow
only mapping with built in Keystone Effects, Masks and Advanced Output is as i mentioned a real pain and very limited compared to a Workflow with Mapio.
so Resolume 7 is not an option for me expect for very very simple projects without mapping which happened to me 0 times the last 10 Years.
I would be happy with working FFGL Effects in R6
or a similar way for mapping in R7 like with Mapio (besides i run all my Machines on Win7 and my next Operating System i will use 24/7 will be a Linux Distro cause new OSX/Windows is dead to me)

Do you still upgrade discount to v7 from v5 now?

I'm confused.
If 5 works the way you like, what's the problem?

I feel your pain in lossing the Mapio plugin. I had some sick setups using the Mapio to remap video's inside my composition. Having Wire gives some new freedom's, but Wiire can not do what Mapio added.

the "problem" is i can't use for example Groups and Tons of other new features which were added in R6 and R7 including Wire.
So i am basically stuck with my old Workflow which is ok for me, also i hate Win10/11 so i'm fine with it so far - but doing the same since years now and missing the new features is quiet sad.
guess if i will ever evolve it seems like it goes in Linux or Touch Designer direction - it's a dead path for me here

Can you share a setup you did with Mapio which you can't do in Arena 7?
