Recording doesn't match expected recording time, recording perfect loops

Hi,

I'm trying to record perfect loops in Resolume. I've tried setting recording to start when the clip triggers, then setting the desired length of the recording to match the clip's length in seconds or beats. However, when the file outputs the results are slightly shorter for example a clip that was 2.402s was output at about 2.1s. It could be that I wasn't recording at high enough fps? I recorded it at 30fps.

However, my machine can't record smoothly at a higher fps. I don't want to drop any frames because I'm trying to make a perfect loop. I'm aware of the "clip render" feature. However, This loop relies on clips from multiple layers together.

I would recommend setting your recording to start at the next bar then the clip has some time to start up and include all the effects and everything before it starts recording and you should get a perfect loop. hope that helps.

Do you mean set the clip to count in so it starts at the next bar?

Or start the clip already and then let the recording start after the next bar?

I'm running Resolume into TouchDesigner for some effects.

Desired behavior is to keep the effects from TouchDesigner and also record a seamless loop.

I would start the recording the next bar after the clip or after the clip is already running in my experience that gives you a much better chance to get a real clear loop

"I would start the recording the next bar after the clip or after the clip is already running in my experience that gives you a much better chance to get a real clear loop"

Then doesn't the recording start in the middle of the clip?

What i'm trying to do is
Run a clip from Resolume into TouchDesigner and then back into Resolume and then record the clip entirely so that every frame is there and it is a perfect loop.

Make sure your source files are DXV.

Try recording to motionJpeg, that's the easiest on the system.

You could try combining the clip rendering - to bounce the effects to the render.
Then play those in multiple layers and do the recording. Should save some processing and give you better recording stability.

Render the clips which have effects, then use the renders for the recording.

The effect processing could then be bypassed to lower the load.
