Premiere party âWar of the Robotsâ
âTheyâre watching us,
Our every moveâ¦â
In the night of Saturday, May 19th, the chemical laboratory Anarres in Dordrecht (NL) will be the battleground for the âWar of the Robotsâ. This premiere marks the kick-off of a European festival tour, beginning at the Mental Soup festival, high in the Swiss Alps.
War of the Robots (WOTR) is a live cinema project, starring the scrap art robots Herminator and HardVader. In a musical surrounding of deep minimal beats, progressive and phat electro, they will guide us through their own psychedelic habitat of textures and abstract animations. Next to their appearance in the improvised storyline, the robots will âof course- grant us the pleasure of their presence at this party.
The spiritual father of Herminator and HardVader and creator of their War of the Robots is the Dutch, Rotterdam based, VJ CampAttack. After club performances e.g. in NightTown and Now & Wow and a first festival appearance at Extremaâs Solar Weekend in 2005, he has been showing his visual qualities predominantly in the Belgium trance and goa scene. He also is an active organiser and promoter of various underground events.
During this night, CampAttack will be challenged visually by VJ of ShockTherapy, a project that originated during the Rotterdam Film festival and that premiered at Now & Wow.
The War of the Robots soundtrack and audio effects are produced by Jeng Do, from the label Tuneskin. After a performance, earlier that night at the Bootleg DJ Café, he and CampAttack in unison will bring the improvised story of Herminator and HardVader to an audiovisual climax.
