Hello all, I just got going with resolume am looking to buy a projector to display this madness!
I have a MacbookPro on Leopard, 2.6ghz.
I am looking to do shows in bars and clubs, so it needs to be able to fight with other lights, be set up with small amounts of room to the screen
Someone else reccomended me the NEC NP1000. But I can find one , thats not used, for cheap. Does anyone have any reccommendations? Thanks alot in advance!

that's a good question, i'd imagine whichever projector has the best contrast and strongest lamp for the price would work well for VJing... as most of the cheaper ones are 800x600 or higher
u can check out CNET for reviews, and obviously google

well I know I want 3000 lumens. I don't really know what my minimum contrast ratio should be though. I keep seeing things as low as 600:1 and 400:1 and such for contrast ratios.Does anyon have an opinion on what my minimum contrast ratio should be?

Take a look at some of the sharp projectors.
Also, Benq is really good I've been told. http://shop.benq.us/benq-us/product.asp ... ture=en-US

First off I went for a BENQ MP771.... 3000 lumens 2000:1 contrast ratio and short throw.......till that is I discovered it just wouldn't work with my Macbook Pro 2.4Ghz. It wouldn't work with my new 17" Macbook Pro either......but it did work with my old G4 powerbook. I would advise you if you can to go test your Mac with the projector you're thinking of buying as my Macbook Pro's were very fussy. I think it might be something to do with the Nvidia chipsets.
Shame because the BENQ is a good beamer at that pricepoint. In the end I spent more cash and swapped it out for an EP781 4500 lumens , 3000:1 contrast ratio with a short throw lens. Poorer, happier man.
