exactly what the subject says. i can't load ANY video or image files onto the deck.
i've tried using the codec recommended and compressed my video samples with it by using super video converter. none of the files will preview and, when dropped on to a clip of the demo deck, the previous video disappears but the audio remains. i guess videos should be a grater problem, but i'm experiencing the same thing with jpegs. can't load a simple darned jpeg to the deck.
i need to get this software working to day. if not i'm switching to neuromixer. it's starting to get ridiculous. i'm sure i'm missing something. but what?

We have not heard about this problem before, are you using mac or pc? If you're using mac there might be a permission problem on the files. Could you send us one of the video files that you're trying to load?
Also please send me the log file that Avenue creates on your computer:
MAC: /Users/[username]/Library/Logs/Resolume Avenue 3 log.txt
PC: C:/Documents and Settings/[username]/Application Data/Resolume/Resolume Avenue 3 log.txt
Hopefully that will show us what is going wrong.

Re: can't load any videos or images onto the deck
I don't have a Mac, but an Asus Notebook that can only work with Vista on it (the drivers are compatible only with Vista; no drivers, no communication with the projector - Asus "Revolutionary" Notebook Series).
There is no log file in the folder "Resolume Avenue 3", neither entitled "Resolume Avenue 3 log.txt", or "log.txt" or anything ".txt". I've Advanced Searched its arse. Seeing that this is happening in Vista, the path is C:/Users/[username]/Documents/Resolume Avenue 3/ and no text file. I could send you the config.xml but I don't know what good that will do.
About the files I tried loading, I've attached the smallest one that's not compressed. The biggest sized samples (they're actually more like videos I sync live with the band's performance) are around 1 GB. I've attempted to follow the advice in the manual and compress them with the recommended codec that was configured as suggested. I got to about 100 something MB. They still wouldn't load. I just tried loading a smaller image and it worked.
I hope this will do in finding out what's wrong.

Re: can't load any videos or images onto the deck
On Vista, the path that you need for the log file is:
c:\Users[username]\AppData\Roaming\Resolume\Resolume Avenue 3 log.txt
Have you tried running Resolume as Administrator (Right click on the Application icon and select Run As Administrator)
If it works when running as administrator then you have a permissions problem with the user that Resolume is running as usually accessing the files.

Re: can't load any videos or images onto the deck
I just tried running it as Admin. Still nothing.
I, however, managed to find that log. Initially, the AppData folder didn't show up in the parent folder, so I just discovered (i haven't been previously introduced to vista and the laptop's pretty new) you can type in the path. yey. copy paste won't do, will it?

Quick tip: To see paths like AppData in the explorer, you need to go to
Control Panel > Folder Options > View and activate the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" option
Control Panel > Folder Options > View and activate the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" option

Re: can't load any videos or images onto the deck
Thanks for sending us one of your videos and the log file via email. The (AVI) video that you try to load is rendered with the DV codec and that does not work in Avenue on the PC.
Please render your video files with the Cinepak, Indeo 5.1 or mpjeg codec.
For details please consult the Preparing Media chapter in our manual:
