slow composition midi map

Post by Gadg3ts »

...is the only way I can describe it.
Assigning controllers (say, the layer video fader) in the application midi map, they behave normally.
Whereas in the composition midi map, all controllers behave really sluggishly, making them pretty much unusable.
Happens in R3 with whichever hardware I'm using.
Is this just me or has anyone else seen it?

Attempted with both the korg nanoKontrol & Behringer BCR2000, both of which work fine in other applications.
It's rather annoying because the behaviour of the mappings that are useful to me are in the mode that doesn't work...

Hi Sean

after reading your post i decided to try out for myself and do some midi mapping. I'm using a M-audio X-session Pro(my dj mixer). Recconiezd by Avenue, no problem, assigning maps, no problem. And after assignement, faders, knobs and buttons are working fine, not sluggish at all. So maybe your problem is elsewhere ??

I do have one problem : i can only assingn stuff for layer 1, no acces to the other layers, see image ,
this is the same in keyboard assignement, is it the same for you guys??

Eric

edit: Correction !! works fine on all layers but in composition midi map !! i was in application midi map. Any ideas as to why we cant map to midi on all layers in application map. Funny thing to : in compostion map if you map for example the fader layer 1, it will follow the layer if you change it's position. In application midi map, even if you change th layers position, the fader will stay in the same place. Personaly i like the second possibilty.

When you create a new composition, drag in one or two clips and then to the composition mapping, is it still slow?

Set the Focus to Deck instead of Layer in the mapping window that appears in place of the preview monitor and you can assign midi to all layers directly.

Hope this helps!
