Library items expanded by default

Post by Tschoepler »

Hey,

Is it just me or what do you think of the effects-items and the comp-items being expanded by default?

Until someone comes up with a good solution for quick-selecting items (as many asked for before, but I understand the problem of personal key mappings) wouldn't it be better to have those items at least unfolded by default? Imagine the finder or explorer to be unfolded all the way down

A vote? Really? Is this what they mean by 'democracy' then? ;)

Hmmm, the lists are actually already unfolded by default. So i guess we don't have to-do anything about it.

I think it's a good idea. even better: one thread moderated by an admin with all the ideas that were put on "THE list" as a voting system. That way I don't have to search the whole forum before posting an idea thinkin "ooh this might be a double post" and everyone can see what most people are bagging for at a glance ;) in the faaaaar future
... ok, there seems to be a bug in editing polls so i killed it

Right now there already is a system like this, where we can check for existing requests and update them if necessary. But we can't give everyone access to it, cause it would be like letting people look into our source code. More transparency in what people have been asking for, and the status of those requests would definitely be a good thing though.

For now, let us handle the filing of 'the list', but you can always feel free to ask for updates or 'bump' a request. Just try not to hijack other threads or lump together too many items, because that's a sure way to get them lost ;)

Back on-topic: This one has been filed, and has the number 1226.

Just wanted to bump this one, since it’s been a couple of years! It's a simple change that would save people a lot of time.

Either effects list defaults to collapsed or it remembers the state it’s in.

Scrolling up and down the list is slow at the moment, and as more effects and pre-sets are added it will get slower. There’s no point in having the pre-sets collapsible if the program doesn’t remember it – might as well remove the feature.
