Hello,
I encounter a synchronization problem and and any help would be welcome.
I want to launch two identical videos from two different layers (because I need to control them independantly), but I need that the two flux be synchronized. Indeed I want to use Resolume for stereographic projection, with one video for the left eye and one video for the right eye, so I need a perfect synchronicity.
However, when, to test the principle, I launch the same video simultaneously on two different layers (launch by clicking on column1) and look at the evolution, I see an increasing shifting appear between the two flux, after only 3-4 minutes.
What is the cause of such a shifting ? Is there a way to synchronize the two layers ? (I can't work with a sole video divided in two parts due to some effects I would like to use separatly)
I used to work with Jitter until now, an I never encountered this problem in so far as the quicktime object seems to manage the number of the frame to read, so the synchronization is insured, even if there is a lack of CPU.
Thank you in advance for your help and advice !

Problem of desynchronization between two layers
Re: Problem of desynchronization between two layers
Hey Yves-Marie
Could you try setting the clips to BPM sync mode? That way, the internal BPM clock would take care of the timing, hopefully eliminating the loss of sync.

Re: Problem of desynchronization between two layers
btw - is there a way to set the default interpretation of a new video?
(So they always come in as say "beats"?)
is there a good way to get the timing grid to be a perfect multiple of the current tempo?
Yes, I'm new at this, but I see a lot of potential AV POWER here!

Re: Problem of desynchronization between two layers
There isn't, but clips with an audio track, even an empty one, will default to BPM sync.btw - is there a way to set the default interpretation of a new video?
Not quite sure what you mean by that. Are you talking about beat snap?is there a good way to get the timing grid to be a perfect multiple of the current tempo?

Re: Problem of desynchronization between two layers
I'm new to this particular program, "bear with me" as they say!
I would really like to be able to specify a BPM that I know the music is at, AND specify the amount of beats
(setting the IN point manually,
and have it AUTOmatically set the out point that many beats later? based on tempo math)
that's the way they do it in Ableton* on some modes
...
in addition, it would be great to be able to specify one layer as master,
(check box or something. probably used on the beat of an a/v song*)
and have other layers checkboxed to follow it's start point
so that no matter what, they always come IN* together.
*most of sample based music is just based on "synching the INs"* and pitch / speed
regardless of what the out points or "decay" may do
